After being in private practice for many years and establishing limb preservation, wound care and diabetes foot education programs at several Native American clinics, Dr. McGowan began teaching Anatomy and Physiology in a local college.
After over 10 years in the college setting, she has written numerous course curriculums, been part of the editorial staff on several text books, and continues to teach both online and in person classes for several colleges.
She teaches medical terminology, human biology and introduction to microbiology. She has also taught for Johns Hopkins Universities gifted students summer camps for several years and created the class materials for the program. Dr. McGowan is also an instructor for a PhD level program in public health biology at Walden University.
